Just checked out the Street Scene website. Seems pretty cool, anyone been to it before? I'd be a little ticked with the schedule if I was going, running back and forth to see both Bad Religion and Social Distortion, and having to come back the next day for the New York Dolls. Bummed I don't have any shows to see this weekend!

I was at the sreet scene in 2004 when Socal D,AFI aand Jimmy eat World was on same stage. So it was easy but it was the last street scene in downtown.Only was at the Qualcom when the Padres palying but the scene its all at the parking spot now there. So taking sneakers with ya and it will no problem to see the bands you want.Trolleys will be packed go early.Thats what i can say.Enjoy!

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial">You'd better believe I was...ticked is way too mild a word for the way I was enraged. Anyway, as you mentioned Jen, the Street Scene organizing dimwits put Bad Religion and Social Distortion on different stages (what's up with that) and then AFI came on right after Bad R. The confirmation of their stupidity is that they scheduled AFI and Social D to play AT THE SAME TIME. In my case my boyfriend prefers AFI, and I had come down with food poisoning the night before (thanks San Diego water district) so I ended up staying to watch AFI because I was cramping too bad to head way over to Social Distortion's stage to see them - damn damn damn.

Enough whining. AFI was utterly breathtaking and amazing. It woulda been a hard leave for me if I had been feeling good. So I missed Mike Ness, but heard people were calling him grandad, and shite like that.

I heard the organizers staged the shows the way they did to disperse the populations equally around to the sponsors. See, when they had Jimmy Eat World, AFI, and Social Distortion all on the same stage everyone stayed at that one stage all night. How well and fondly I and my feet remember that night. That was a good night two years ago, before they moved to stupid, ugly qualcomm. But, despite it's ugliness, qualcomm had good parking and that's good when you can hardly walk to the car because your stomach feels like it's being coiled into madonna ringlets - thanks again San Diego water district for the untimely ecoli poisoning. I'm SORRY MIKE! Will catch them later. They always come back to San Diego. Always.

Oh Yeah, Bad Religion was amazingly AMAZINGLY powerful. They're back! Stronger than ever. And yes there were age comments. Aaaaarggghh. Don't remind me. There were many idiots at this show - organizers and attendees. Seriously, more than the usual.

I guess over a hundred injuries. One life threateningly so at Tool's show Sat.

I had a blast at Street Scene. Would've liked to see AFI too, though, and the NY Dolls. But was too broke after 2 shows in Tempe to go both nights. Bad Religion did kick ass though! We actually saw the lead singer on Mission Beach the next day. After the two shows in Tempe, though I thought it was too short, and no encore. Wahh, wahh, wahh, who cares it was nice to be in San Diego watchin' my sick boys. Also liked the big screens so after being smashed in the front I could take a breather and still see the show. I was near the front kinda by jonny's side and some dude crowd surfed his 9 year old! Crazy motherfucker. There was a bunch of kids right next to me who almost got crushed. I tried to help bodyguard the kids for a while, then went to the back and danced with my sister. Shows in Tempe were uncomparable, though. I was center stage in front of Mike and have some great shots, but haven't been able to figure out how to put pictures into these posts, yet. Hope the boys are taking a nice months break so they can get back to the SW soon!

The fun of Festivals! Glad you two had fun and hope you are feeling better My Car. Actually being able to see the New York Dolls, Bad Religion, AFI and Social D in one shot is I guess a little to good to be true.
